We love dining out. Not only do I love the variety of dishes we get to try at different restaurants, but my kitchen also stays clean when I don’t have to cook! Thanks to Restaurant.com, we have gotten to dine at some really great restaurants that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise. AND, because we utilize Restaurant.com, we get some super great deals. And these deals are available to anyone!
This time we ate at Eddie O’Brien’s in Farmington. We were having a late lunch/early dinner. Chris basically wanted lunch and I wanted dinner. So Eddie O’Briens it was! Even though their dinner menu isn’t supposed to be available until 4pm, they let you order from it for lunch as well when requested.
For starters, we ordered mozzarella sticks for our appetizer. They come with a little side of marina sauce (which Chris uses, but I don’t) and they were delicious. Nice and crispy on the outside, and the cheese was ooey-gooey in the center. Mozzarella sticks are one of those things you’d think people really can’t screw up – but believe me, it has happened before! But these were great.
For his entree, Chris ordered a turkey club with bacon, lettuce and cheese. He also ordered a side salad with blue cheese dressing. His salad came out with our mozzarella sticks. He said the salad was pretty good.
When our entrees came out, his turkey club was HUGE! This picture should have a caption saying items in photo are larger than they appear, lol. He devoured it though, and said it was absolutely delicious. I always ask him “would you get it again?” to see how much he really liked it. When I asked him, he said “ohhh yeah”. So yeah, it must have been really good.
For my dinner entree, I ordered the angus NY strip steak with sauteed mushrooms, and well done. Instead of regular fries, I asked for sweet potato fries, because I happened to catch that on the menu and I LOVE sweet potato fries. My meal also came with a side of shredded veggies, so I opted for double sweet potato fries instead, and I knew Chris would help me eat them.
The menu said my steak would come on a slice of garlic toast, and they meant that literally. When it arrived, my steak was laying on top of a very soggy piece of garlic toast. I removed the toast and did not eat it, and when I order this again (I say “when”, because I WILL get this again) – I will ask for my toast on the side. I bet it would have been good it my steak didn’t make it all soggy!
I ordered my steak well done – no pink, and it did arrive a little pink, but it was delicious and I ate it anyways. I used to never eat steak if it was even slightly pink, but I seem to be changing as I’m getting older, because I find the steaks are a little more tender if they have just a hint of pink. I just added my A1 sauce and this steak was very delicious and flavorful.
I have no idea if they offer dessert, and it didn’t really matter, because we were stuffed! This meal was so yummy and we can’t wait to go back again!
I have the Restaurant.com app on my phone, so when we are out and about, I can purchase a Restaurant.com deal right from my phone, and then I just show it to our server when it’s time to pay. This one I ordered in advance from my home computer, and actually had the certificate printed out. Thanks to Restaurant.com, we saved $25 off our order of $50! Woohoo! A 50% savings on dinner? Or should I say – a 50% savings on an incredible dinner? Yes please!
If you are not taking advantage of Restaurant.com, you are missing out! That’s all there is to it. And they are available nation-wide. Just enter your zip code (or the zip code you want to dine at) either in the app or on their website, and you can see all the places near you that are available for discounts! I’d be willing to bet there are restaurants on that list you never even knew about!
