So, Chris has been on this “I want to help around the house more” kick. I didn’t ask him to, he’s just been doing it. He says he wants to cook on Sundays. So who am I to argue? 😉
He’s also been on this bacon kick on the weekends too. BLT’s to be exact. And I’m all for bacon anything. The only thing I hate is the mess, but he’s been cleaning up the mess, too. So bacon away.
My favorite way to make bacon is in the oven, weaving the bacon into perfect sandwich sized squares. But Chris prefers cooking it on the stove. He cuts the strips in half first, and cooks them in a frying pan on the stove. I have to say, it is a quick way to make bacon.
Today he asked if I had an empty container I was going to throw away. He says he needs something to put the grease in. I couldn’t think of any, because honestly, I re-use containers for all sorts of things. Especially glass containers. I make home made soy candles out of them.
So I grabbed a bowl, and lined it with aluminum foil.
I told him to pour the grease right into the aluminum foil.
So he poured it in. And then he says “now what?”.
I told him to wait.
Once it cools and solidifies, you simply lift the aluminum foil out of the bowl….
… and throw it away!
No mess, no wasted containers. Did I mention no mess?
Speaking of messes, he has also been doing laundry on Sundays, all on his own. This includes folding and putting it away.
Think he’s trying to get brownie points for something?
Don’t tell him.. but it’s working.
