I received a Ninja 3-in-1 cooker for Christmas from my parents, so I’m going hog wild trying out a bunch of new recipes 🙂
Now, I will tell you right now that I HATE apple pie. Â I just don’t like it. Â But baked apples? Â Now that’s an entirely different story!
Here’s my recipe for the most incredible baked apples that are so easy to make, and you can make them in your slow cooker!
You will need:
- 4-6 apples
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Now, you can use any apple you like, but I prefer a more sweet & tart apple, so I used Honey Crisps. Â I don’t like dry tasting apples, like Red Delicious, but you use whatever kind of apple you like.
First step is to core out the apple, but don’t cut all the way through to the bottom. Â Peel about a 1/2″ ring around the top of the apple. Â This will keep your apple from cracking while baking. Â Â Place them in your slow cooker.
Mix all of the ingredients, and stuff your apples with the mixture. Â Stuff them good!
Add a pat of butter on top of each apple. Â If you have extra filling left over, sprinkle it on top of the butter.
Cook in your slow cooker on HIGH heat for about 3 hours, or until the apples are very soft, almost mushy. (That’s how I like them anyways).
When you place them on your plate (or bowl, is what I used), pour a little of the drizzle from the bottom of the slow cooker over the apple. Â You can top with vanilla ice cream, caramel, or reddi-whip, or eat them just as they are. Â I think they are perfect just as they are. Â These are INCREDIBLE!! Â And so easy! Â I have to say, this just may be my new favorite dessert!
