#Review on 4 new flavors of Vital Essentials Freeze Dried Dog Treats!

July 22, 2015 by bargainhound 12 Comments

ve1

Seriously, we have some of the most spoiled dogs EVER.   Last year, they got to review four bags of their most favorite treats in the world… freeze dried treats from Vital Essentials.   They had received Turkey Giblets, Beef Nibs and Rabbit Bites.  And they all loved all of them.

Well, the awesome people over at Vital Essentials just sent them four more bags of their new products to review!  This time they got to try Wild Alaskan Salmon Rings, Bully Sticks, Chicken Hearts, and Duck Nibs.  They were in hog heaven!

I really did try to get a picture of just the bags, but they were WAY too excited and just wouldn’t allow it. They were practically salivating all over the packaging.  They knew something awesome was inside of those bags, and they were not able to contain their excitement.   Kinda like watching me with chocolate. :\

ve2

First I let them try the Chicken Hearts.

ve8

Needless to say, they loved them.  And Maxi, who has to smell everything for like 10 minutes before eating something, snagged them up pretty quickly!

ve9

And at one point, when I went to give one to Maxi, Noah swiped it out of my hand so fast I never saw it coming!

Next I let them try the Duck Nibs.  They love anything Duck, so I knew these would be a hit.  As a matter of fact, as soon as I looked away for a split second, Molly dove into that bag – which was still in my hands – face first.  Spoiled brat!

ve3

These were Maxi’s very favorite out of all the treats.  We always have to break things into small pieces for him, and these were in such tiny  little pieces, they were perfect for Maxi!  He devoured them in no time flat!   His eyes were bigger than his belly, lol!

ve4

Next I let them try the Wild Alaskan Salmon Rings.  Now this one I was a little worried about.  Typically none of them like anything fishy.  But leave it to Vital Essentials to make a fish product they will eat!

At first sniff, they kind of just looked at it funny, but Annabelle went in for the kill and took it out of my hand.  And she’s a really finicky dog, so that really surprised me.  After they saw her take it, they were a little more willing.

ve7

The smallest Chihuahuas – Cody and Maxi – were never really crazy over the Salmon, but the other 4 dogs ate them.  They also buried them, and covered them, and growled at any other dog who got near to their hiding spots. And then proceeded to eat them again.

ve6

ve5

Lastly, I had them try the bully sticks.  Our dogs have always loved bully sticks.  And I love giving them bully sticks because they are good for their teeth and gums.

Little miss shy Annabelle wasn’t waiting in line for her bully sticks.  They are her favorites!  She took one right out of the bag.

ve10

ve13

Pictures of her enjoying her bully stick does not do them justice, so here’s a video of her enjoying her bully stick.  And keep in mind, she is the most loving, quietest, Chihuahua ever.  She never growls, she’s not food aggressive at all.  But just watch how much she loves those Vital Essentials Bully Sticks!

ve12

Molly and Noah also got Bully Sticks.  In the video, you see Noah was walking around trying to find his, and I later found it… under Molly.

ve11

They ate these throughout the week, and went crazy over them every time.  Molly loved them so much, she found the empty bags and licked them clean on the inside.

ve16

And, in some cases, attempted to dissect and eat part of the packaging. Sigh.

ve15

Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up.  This is why I love doing pet product reviews.  Dogs don’t know how to lie.  If they love something, you know it.  And if they don’t like something, they show it.

Check out this video to see them in action the first time they got to try these treats.

If your dogs have never had the opportunity to try freeze dried treats from Vital Essentials, I HIGHLY recommend that you try them.  I promise you, your dogs will go ape over these.  Our dogs get spoiled rotten with all sorts of treats.  But they go craziest over Vital Essentials.  And they are so healthy for them, too!  They are RAW, and Gluten-Free!   Your dogs will thank you!   You can buy Vital Essentials treats at Chewy.com, or you can visit their store locator and see all the places near you or online that carry them!   They also carry frozen and freeze dried entrees, and freeze dried entrees for cats!

Disclaimer: I (our dogs) received free product to review, but all comments and opinions are my own. I only recommend products I believe would be good for my readers. I do not give good reviews solely based on receiving a free product. My reviews are honest and ethical.

Thanks for all the dog product ideas! My dog had an injury the week before last, so I have been baby-ing him more than usual. These treats sound right up his alley.
