This is Sammy. He’s our almost 12-year-old Shih-Tzu/Pomeranian dog. He’s had more than his share of health problems in the last few years. In the last year alone, he went from 28 lbs down to 17 lbs. Yes, he lost 11 lbs in just a little over a year. That is a lot of weight to lose, especially for a small dog.
He has skin tumors, and a tumor in his throat that is the size of an orange. Because of his age, and the location of this tumor, the vets will not test it (they assume it’s cancerous because of the size & feel of it) and they most definitely will not perform surgery on it. The vet’s actual words were “it would be like kicking a hornet’s nest”. Not something you want to hear about a family member.
So our job is to keep him as healthy as we can, and as comfortable as we can. He doesn’t act like he’s in any pain whatsoever. He eats fine, and acts normal except for one thing – he throws up every single day. Sometimes it’s once a day, sometimes it’s several times a day. But not a day goes by without him throwing up.
So we’ve looked into several different diets for him, and heard about AllProvide. AllProvide is a completely raw diet for dogs. What I really liked is that there are no fillers. A raw diet is one thing we have not tried with him before, so we were hopeful for good results.
Our box of AllProvide dog food arrived very quickly. It comes in a styrofoam box, packed in dry ice.
All of the food is portioned in 1 lb sealed packages. We received three flavors. Chicken and Vegetables, Turkey and Vegetables, and Beef and Vegetables.
The food is made with restaurant-quality ingredients. All raw food. You can either feed it to your dog raw, or you can microwave it in these microwavable pouches, or you can cook them yourself. I wanted him to get all of the nutrients and benefits of raw food, so that was my first option. But the question was, would he like it?
See for yourself:
As you can see, he devours his AllProvide RAW dog food! He LOVES it. He doesn’t even come up for air! He hasn’t been on it for long, but so far we are liking the results. He seems to have a lot more “spunk” and he gets very excited about dinner time. I feel really good about knowing he’s not getting any fillers in his dog food. And I love that he truly loves this food.
If you are concerned about feeding your dog raw food, this is not something to be concerned about. Raw food diets just bring dogs back to their natural instincts. Back before dogs were domesticated and became “pets”, they killed and ate their prey in the wild. Dogs were meant to eat raw food diets. This is completely healthy for them!
Have you ever tried a raw food diet for your dog?
