Product Review: Nudges Dog Treats, made in USA! #NudgesMoments

I blog about our dogs a lot. We have five Chihuahuas and one older mutt, and we love them dearly. They are not just pets, they are not just dogs, they are our beloved family members. We want the best for them, just as we do for ourselves.

We love spoiling our dogs. I love dressing them up in outfits (well, the ones that will let us, lol), buying them toys, and I love spoiling them with treats. We spend a small fortune on dog treats. I often make them home made dog food and dog treats. Especially with all these pet food recalls. There have been so many lately! It’s quite frightening, actually.

Our local Walmart recently had most of their shelves completely empty due to pet treat recalls. Pet treats made in China seem to be the biggest problem. I’m VERY cautious about pet food & treats coming from China. I will not buy any food from China anymore. They have NO quality control over there, and they are poisoning and killing our pets (and our people) here in the US.

However, Nudges dog treats have NEVER been associated with any recall. All of the ingredients in Nudges are made in Independence, IA, and every batch is tested to make sure it is safe.

So when I found out about Nudges dog treats and that they were made in the USA, I was ecstatic! Our dogs LOVE chicken jerky, and we love feeding jerky to them because they are healthy treats and they are good for their teeth. Chihuahuas are known for having teeth issues, so we are very careful about what they eat. And the fact that they are made in the U.S.A. is a huge bonus! I love promoting products made here in the good ol’ USA!

The question is, will our dogs like Nudges? As soon as I opened the bag, they came running. It’s not easy feeding 6 dogs at once, (plus we have 8 week old puppies that are going to their forever homes very soon), so it can become pretty chaotic at feeding time.

When I opened the bag and let them all smell the treats in the bag, they went crazy! Barking, crying, and begging sounds immediately began. I smelled the treats myself too, and they actually smelled pretty good. I gave them all a Nudges Chicken Jerky treat and all of the dogs loved them. If you know Chihuahuas, you know how finicky they can be. Our Annabelle and Maxi are two of the most finicky Chihuahuas I’ve ever seen, and even they loved Nudges Chicken Jerky treats.

Here’s Noah, loving his Nudges Jerky Treats!

Annabelle loves Nudges too! She kept coming back begging for more.

Here’s Maxi, he had one eye on me and one eye on the treat! LOL

We even witnessed some of them stealing Nudges from the other dogs! We try really hard to not let that happen, but Chihuahuas are sneaky little buggers and they know how to get what they want! And they REALLY wanted Nudges Dog Treats. We even let the 8-week old puppies have a little piece and they loved them too!

I would list the pros and cons of Nudges Wholesome Dog Treats, but you know what? There ARE NO cons! So, I’ll tell you all the things that make them so great:

  • They are made with REAL chicken
  • There are NO artificial flavors
  • There are NO fillers
  • They contain 11 essential vitamins
  • They are made in the USA! (have I mentioned that yet?!)

Nudges can be found in Kroger and Walmart stores nationwide, as well as other retailers. I’m in Upstate NY and they are also located in our local Wegmans stores. Click here to see what stores near you carry Nudges!

I took a quick video of our tribe enjoying their Nudges treats. This was taken over the course of two different nights. I came down with Bronchitis when I took the second video, so that’s why my voice sounds the way it does. I actually ended up losing my voice completely!

But, you can see our dogs going nuts over their Nudges!

Overall, the Nudges were a HUGE hit. And since they were so healthy for our dogs, I can’t wait to spoil them with Nudges treats on a regular basis. Especially since I saw these at our local Walmart!

These treats killed three of my dogs! Don’t feed them to your pet. They are bad too!

I have 2 chihuahuas that have eat Nudges grillers for about a year with no probs and they love them but all a sudden my oldest chihuahua at 8 years now vomits all night long every time I have gave them to him. The younger chihuahua doesn’t get sick but I’d still highly recommend people not buy these because reading these stories there is a very common reaction going on to these treats.

Edward, I bought these treats and my dog (not both — just one) got very, very ill after eating just a small amount. Wondering what your experience was? $300 later at vet … she is still bleeding when she poops.

We recently decided to do a first time purchase of this product at Wal Mart and the very next day our Teddy Bear Poodle was sick with vomiting. We stopped giving her this treat immediately. I also have an issue with the labeling on the back of the package. In the fine print in the lower right corner it states ” Imported By, Tyson Pet Products Inc ” and goes on to give the company address. So my question is … if this is a 100% made in the USA product, what and why, is Tyson doing a listing that requires the imported notation for the parent manufacturing company ?
We have purchased Blue Wilderness products before with no adverse reactions by our dogs and have returned to them for our pets well being. The cost of both products is about the same.

If these are so great why do they need sugar?? Dogs do not need sugar. It’s bad for them. These are NOT healthy or safe treats. Dogs can get diabetes, sugar feeds yeast infections and cancer cells. Who do they think they’re kidding!

OMG, I have just noticed that my babies have bad diarrhea and are super sick. Why would you put distilled vinegar in a treat?? I have took them off this stuff and thrown it away. Prayers that they are okay.
