Today I was a vendor at a local craft show. Â I’ve attended this particular show a few other times with mixed results. Â But the fee for a space at this location is low ($20) so I like to give it a shot when I have the time and products.
Lately I’ve been trying really hard to “go green” wherever possible. Â I’m tired of wasting money on expensive product refills, and throwing money down the drain. Â So I’m going through my house, one item at a time, and trying to come up with ways to cut the unnecessary expenses, and waste.
Like most families, one of the biggest wastes in our home was paper towels.  I found out about un-paper towels on Pinterest, and immediately began making them for our home, and utilizing them in place of paper towels.  We have been saving SO much money!  I definitely wanted to make these for the craft show, so I made many different rolls in different prints. I sold most of them!
I also made my refill pads for the Swiffer Wet Jet. I sold them in singles and 2-packs.
I also made fleece refills for Swiffer 360º dusters!  These were also extremely popular today.
I’ve also started making my own candles earlier this year. My candles are all Soy candles and I use only the highest quality fragrances and dyes. I had a tart warmer on with a tart in it, and all day everyone was talking about what smelled so good :) My candles were a big hit. I had scents like Pecans & Pralines, Butterscotch (which is my personal favorite), Blueberry Muffins, Pine, Banana Bread, Pumpkin Pie, Polo, Axe Kilo (my boyfriend’s favorite), Vanilla, Hazelnut and so much more. I was selling them in tins and jars, and also votives and tarts.
Yes, that’s a dog mannequin :) I had a table for pet stuff. How can I leave out the pets? I had dog & cat bandanas, and dog & cat vinyl placemats! I embroidered the placemats with cute sayings on them, like “Spoiled”, “Feed Me”, “Dinner Time” and more.   All my pet stuff was very popular, especially the dog placemats. The cat placemats were in the shape of cat heads, and the dog placemats were in the shape of dog bones.
And, in all my spare time (ha!) I made a few fleece hats, scarves, balaclavas and pouches.
And it’s hard to see in the photos, but I also had some glass pendants with chains that I had made. I like to find unique prints and pictures for my pendants.
And I brought my Downy Wrinkle-Release spray to get all the wrinkles out of the sheets before the show opened. I just took the pics before I did that.
Today was the best day we’ve had at this craft show. Those un-paper towels were a mega-hit, with the Swiffer products, and pet products right behind.
My mom came to visit us at the craft show today, and ended up being the best little sales woman ever! She just started selling our products to everyone! I told her the next show we do… she’s hired! LOL
