I love candles, and as many of you probably already know, I make my own soy candles. Well sometimes, you want the ambiance of a candle even when you can’t burn an actual candle. I do a lot of craft shows and a lot of them stipulate you cannot have any open flame. And certain places – some apartments, dorms, etc – don’t allow flames either. So if you find yourself in a situation like that, these flameless candles by Comenzar are a wonderful alternative.
I have another set that are very similar to these, but these are even nicer. They have a fake flame on top that flickers like a real candle. They actually move! They are very realistic looking, and if you didn’t know any better, you’d never know they were run by batteries.
Which brings me to the only “con” I can think of. Each pillar takes 3 AAA batteries, and they aren’t included. Ugh. That’s a lot of batteries. I wish they didn’t take so many, but I guess this is a good reason to buy rechargeable batteries. The remote comes with a batter – a cell type battery, and it’s supposed to last a long time. I haven’t had to change it yet.
The remote has a few nice features on it as well. You can set the timer to turn off in 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours. You can control the brightness or dimness with a press of the button, and you can change the setting to “candle” or “light”.
When you press the “candle” button, the flame on top stops moving and the light just flickers. When you press the “light” button, the flame on top flickers like a real candle. So that seems a little backwards to me. But other than that, I love the candles.
