You only need 1, yes, ONE ingredient to make home made butter. And that’s heavy whipping cream!
Place it in your food processor (or stand mixer, but it will take a lot longer in your mixer) and blend away! You’ll have butter in about 2 minutes in your food processor. Then just keep rinsing out the buttermilk from the butter and place the butter in your airtight containers.
Here’s my video step-by-step tutorial:
I love making butter
I am super excited to try this. How long does this store for? Could I freeze it?
Oh wow! Neat. I might have to try that!
how much butter do you get from one quart of heavy cream?
Thanks BargainHound, for this great and easy video to follow! lindaw, I made it and got 7/8ths of a lb…..so just a tad under a pound of butter. It was easy thanks to this video! It exceeds in freshness and taste compared to commercially made butter, IMHO. Rebecca, I wrap well then freeze frozen commercial butter when I can get it on sale. I thaw in the refrigerator. I didn’t see any difference in the taste or texture, than me keeping it in the refrigerator to begin with. You can try a stick in the freezer and see what you think. Best Wishes!
