I hate shopping in stores on Black Friday, I really do. But I own a business and this is the one day a year I get the best deal on fabric. I shop at up to five different Joann Fabrics stores every Black Friday. They open at 6am, and I’m in line at the first one by 5:45am. This year, we went to four different Joann’s.
For my business, 99% of my products are made with flannel fabric. And on Black Friday, I can score my flannel at Joann’s for just $1.74 a yard. Regular price is $6.99/yard. So this is a significant savings!
You can see my receipts above.
- Store #1:Â Paid $304.66, saved $939.46.
- Store #2: Paid $211.60, saved $638.52.
- Store #3: Paid 348.75, saved $1052.23.
- Store #4: Paid $145.07, saved $437.79.
By the end of the day, I ended up paying $1,010.08 and saved a whopping $3,068.00!
If I paid full price, I would have paid over $4,000 for all this fabric. I am not a morning person, but I have no problems jumping out of bed for a BARGAIN like this!
Wondering what this much fabric looks like? Here are some pics.
This one I took from inside our SUV. The entire trunk was FULL, and so was the back seat.
When we got home, we brought everything inside and set it on the dining room table & chairs, so I could organize them before bringing them upstairs in my fabric room.   I have multiple bolts of the same fabric, so I keep one bolt in my sewing room, and the excess bolts of the same fabric in my fabric room.
There are actually piles on the table all the way around, and on all chairs.
That is a LOT of fabric!
Once again, before you tell me I’m a hoarder, remember that I have a business, and this is less than one year’s worth of fabric.
I buy this much fabric every Black Friday, and it lasts about 9-10 months.
I still have to run to Joann’s throughout the year when I run out of a specific fabric.
Want to see how I store all my fabric? Here’s a post I wrote up in July.
If you scored any great deals on Black Friday, do tell!
