My boyfriend and I want to start the new year right. Â We have 2 serious resolutions. Â They are (1) get out of debt and (2) get healthy.
We have both been on every program out there. Â Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, etc. Â For both of us, Weight Watchers worked best. Â I lost 40 lbs in 4 months between following the WW plan and doing Zumba 3-4 times a week. Â (Exercise is key).
We both really wanted to sign up for Weight Watchers this month, but they are so expensive 🙁 Â It would cost us $114 to sign up for 3 months, for the both of us. Â And then after that, it’s $38 month for the two of us. Â As much as we love the WW plan, it’s just not in our budget right now to spend that kind of money, especially when our other main goal is to get out of debt.
So, I went searching for another option. Â I’ve tried lots of different “free” sites over the years, but they don’t have the tools that we need to keep us on a plan. Â We don’t do meetings, we want online tools, and preferably an app for our phones to keep us in check.
Well, last night, while doing some searching, I found this great new site called SparkPeople.com. Â It’s a 100% free online diet, with tools very similar to Weight Watchers, AND an app for our cell phones!! Â They have menu planning, a community to talk with other members for support and so much more. Â The main things I love is the food tracker, exercise tracker, and the weight tracker. Â I NEED to see a chart showing my progress. Â It keeps me on track. Â And I’ve personally found that while dieting, if I weigh myself DAILY, it motivates me to stick to the plan.
